Saved work item views in GitLab
### Overview
It can be time consuming for users to recreate complex filters and searches when working with issues across projects and groups. Saved searches will enable users to define a query once and reuse it.
It’s common for teams with large number of issues to want to see specific lists, such as:
- issues with label “blocker” and milestone “version 1.0”
- issues with milestone “version 1.0” and no assignee
These searches are easy to perform using GitLab issues, but they have to be repeated every time. There is also not an easy way to share them among team members. That’s why saved searches are a part of most advanced issue trackers.
Saved searches enables teams to customize GitLab’s issue list to what they need for their workflows.
### Desired User Experience
- A seamless way to save customized query filters for an extensive range of workflow needs, significantly diminishing the need for repetitive setup.
- Options to categorize searches as personal or available for the rest of the project/group members, enhancing collaborative efforts.
- An easy method to apply saved searches, allowing users to focus more on their core tasks with improved efficiency and less on navigating the platform.
### User Workflows Addressed
1. **As a department head**, I want to quickly access a search for "OKRs pending review", so that I can efficiently track progress and identify areas requiring attention.
2. **As a software engineer**, I want to save a filter for "My open work", so that I can better manage my workload and prioritize effectively.
3. **As a product manager**, I want to share a "Feature backlog" search with my team, so that we can collaboratively prioritize and plan upcoming sprints.
